Resumen del Editor

Psychic Mira Tejedor lies comatose in the wake of her second battle with the devious Madame Versailles, but her sacrifice was not in vain. Though at great cost, her nemesis is no more, her love has returned to the land of the living, and 12 innocent girls are back with their families. Still, young Anthony Faircloth can’t escape the notion there must have been another way.

Obsessed with freeing Mira as Mira once freed him, Anthony works to rekindle their special link and soon meets with more success than he knows what to do with. Two distinct worlds, both forged in the imagination of Pyotr Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, threaten to consume his life. By the still waters of Swan Lake, Anthony assumes the guise of a man named Benno and must help Prince Siegfried defend the Swan Princess, Odette, from the machinations of a dark sorcerer. In the Stahlbaum house, he takes on the role of a boy named Fritz who, under the command of the Nutcracker Prince, must save his sister Clara from the onslaught of the Mouse King and his army of rodent soldiers. At the intersection of the two disparate settings lies yet another mystery: both Odette and Clara wear Mira’s face. And these intertwining perils are but shadows of the real danger.

Back in the real world, a menacing figure from Mira’s past has escaped from prison and now stalks her on both sides of the veil of dream. Anthony must bring Mira out of her catatonic state so that she can fight one last time, or her life and the lives of all she loves will be lost.

Fantastic Finale

This time it’s up to Anthony. He must finish the story and bring everyone back safely, but there are surprises and a new nemesis.
The dance is on.

Such a great series!

This series intrigued me from the first time I read the title of The Mussorgsky Riddle. I took a chance and was captivated and impressed by the way the classical music and ballet were woven in the stories. I met the author by chance in Winston-Salem at the annual book festival and he was super excited to meet me and find out that I had just happened upon his series! A very down to earth guy and a fantastic series!

Ok ending to a great first book

This book was like pulling teeth, the first book in the series was great, such a fascinating idea to use pictures at an exhibition as the basis for a landscape but the love “triangle” if you can call it that was weak and continued through out the trilogy. The female children, Isabella and Rachel, were essentially the same character but just called mommy to different people. The detective lost his accent, the main character of this book was just the main character of the first book but now with a the opposite set of genitals. I really enjoyed the first book and wish I would have stopped there. Additionally, there is so much reference to outdated pop culture it’s really awkward and constant things like “from one of x’s favorite shows blah blah blah” seem to really ruin what world building has been done. One of my absolute least favorite moments was when “research” was just haphazardly thrown in dialogue by Anthony in this book and no mention of him actually going to do research was ever presented.

I hate to be critical of others work, I’m no writer and I bet I couldn’t do what Mr. Kennedy did and does as a doctor, but I’m a reader and unfortunately this one just did not measure up.
