Resumen del Editor

This program is read by the author.

When Washington D.C. was first built, it was on top of a swamp that had to be drained. Donald Trump says it's time to drain it again.

In The Swamp, bestselling author and Fox News Channel host Eric Bolling presents an infuriating, amusing, revealing, and outrageous history of American politics, past and present, Republican and Democrat. From national political scandals to tempests in a teapot that blew up; bribery, blackmail, bullying, and backroom deals that contradicted public policies; cronyism that cost taxpayers hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars; and personal conduct that can only be described as regrettable, The Swamp is a journey downriver through the bayous and marshes of Capitol Hill and Foggy Bottom.

The presidential election of 2016 was ugly, but it exposed a political, media, industry, and elite establishment that desperately wanted to elect a politician who received millions of dollars from terror-funding states over a businessman willing to tell the corrupt or incompetent, “You’re fired.”

The audiobook concludes with a series of recommendations for President Trump: practical, hard-headed, and concise ways to drain the swamp and force Washington to be more transparent, more accountable, and more effective in how it serves those who have elected its politicians and pay the bills for their decisions.

Last year President Trump declared Wake Up America to be a "huge" book; Eric Bolling's second audiobook is surely to build on that success. Entertaining and timely, The Swamp is the perfect audiobook for today's political climate.

Entertaining account of failed moral leadership

I listen to this after Bolling's firing from Fox and although it's a very good read or listen I couldn't help but feel for him when his failings mimics his subjects.
In his defense he was not elected into Congress nor did he get accused of equally egregious Acts, however I couldn't help but realize I too
am not perfect.

Enigma

Mr. Bolling's thoroughly researched, fast moving and well written, THE SWAMP chronicles the age old dilemma of Government corruption. One wonders why so many working class people would vote to give politicians more control over our lives and more of our tax dollars who have a demonstrated history of self dealing, immoral, unethical, corrupt or criminal behavior!

More than was expected

I really liked that he read his own book.
This was a very informative trip through time and what the politicos have been up to for all these years. I like his message to the Trump very well also.

Clear and Straightforward

If you could sum up The Swamp in three words, what would they be?

Clear and Straightforward

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

The author has insight and knowledge on what makes Washington ticks. I lived there for 36 years and I feel that I have an understanding to be able to make that evaluation.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Careful about the actors that are selected to portray key figures.

Great information...start DRAINING!

Overall this was a good read. The first few chapters which were about historical players and misdeeds was a little hard to follow, maybe for me partly because the situations weren't in chronological order, but it did show how the swamp has been filling to overflowing for decades. Glad I read it.

Mr. President, drain the swamp

The layout and building Washington DC as our nations capital was done in a swampy area. This book is about the metaphorical swamp that is our nations capitol today with the self enrichment of elected politicians and their acts of illegality as well as an unaccountable and unelected administrative state that passes many more laws in the form of regulations than does the Congress. Most of The Swamp is a summary of illegalities and bad behavior during the entire history of our nation; it is about such behavior in all three branches of our government. It is about how we went from the citizen politician to the professional and crooked politician who get just 20% of his income from his salary and the rest from cashing in on his position and its power. The author basically defines the swamp before moving on to solutions

Only the last chapter of The Swamp is devoted to solutions. The major solution is to let President trump be himself and allow him to drain the swamp so the people regain their freedoms and they can make the economy grow at a reasonable pace again. Let Trump lead in making America great again.

Eric Bolling's conclusion chapter will not get agreement from a large proportion of US citizens, but it makes sense to me. And I was a Never Trumper during the primary and general elections until on election day I decided he was the best of awful options.
