What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Left me with questions until I read summary of other books in series and it looks like the story continues.

Which character – as performed by Christina Moore – was your favorite?

Frannie

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I would watch on TV

Predictable but still enjoyed the story.

As always Wanda, has pulled me into yet another wonder story. I will say how angry I am that some of the story is laid out however it's worth the read.

Angry/Tears/Uncertainty

There are over 30 verbal chapters but only 16 visual ones. I like to stop reading at the end of a chapter so I found this very annoying.

I love the narrator Christina Moore because I can hear laughter and happiness in her voice, but there was none of that in this book. The main characters are dealing with a lot of hard times and there were always tears springing to somebody's eyes. It was kind of a sad book. I kind of felt like Zack's story was left unfinished.

Chapters don't match

I loved and enjoyed this book. I couldn't wait to hear about Caleb and Naiom. And so glad for Abrham.

One of my favorite Authors

Great story-
You will enjoy getting to know these families.

The narrator does a good job telling the story.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover 🤭

I heard about this author of all places in the Wall Street Journal. I'd read another Amish Story, "Levi's Will" by W Dale Cramer and really enhoyed it. Plus the Amish have moved into my home area os southern Iowa and I find the Amish interesting. So, I thought I'd give the author a chance. It is a nice story, a make you feel good kind of story which is what it si supposed to do. It was easy to keep listening. I'm sure I'll listen to anouther by this author at some point.

This was an easy to listen to story. I became attached to the characters while learning about the Amish culture.

Good story, easy listening

I grew up in rural Kentucky, and since leaving there and following my army husband all over the world and finally ending up in Alabama, I was surprised to learn that the Amish have settled in my home state, very near the little town where I grew up. For many, many years now, I have been fascinated by the lifestyle of these quiet, unassuming people. When we go home to Kentucky, we visit the Amish, we buy their handmade baskets, which put Longaberger baskets to shame. Each time we go, another of the tiny Yoders has learned to weave baskets and has printed their name and year on the bottom of the basket that we buy. There's a deep peace on their faces, an assuredness that we, "English" just can't quite capture in our busy lives. The Storekeeper's Daughter is the first book I've read or listened to about the Amish, and it was sweet and good. And I needed it. It gave me a window into the world of the Amish, and it also bonded me with them, as I, too, am a Christian. The Bible verses quoted in this book are balm to my soul.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the characters and the plot is intriguing. There’s a lot going on with this family. Naomi definitely has more in her cup than she can handle. When her father refuses to consider Caleb courting her, I really did not like him. Then when he blames Naomi when her little brother is kidnapped, I really detested him.

The tide turns in his favor once he realizes what he’s lost when Naomi runs away with her English friend Ginny. Thank God he finds Fannie. She helps him see how unfair he’s been to Naomi. When she comes home, he welcomes her and apologizes for the way he treated her, and even seeks out Caleb to tell him he can court Naomi.

I was pleased that Naomi and Caleb found their happy ending and that her father finds his with Fannie, but I was a bit befuddles when there is no resolution to the baby’s kidnapping. I certainly hope that gets resolved in the next book.

I listened to the narration and enjoyed the reader a great deal. I would have liked it if she could have given the male characters more individuality. They all sound the same. Nonetheless, the narration isn’t intrusive. Happy reading/listening!
