I loved this book. The stories were all so intriguing and really pulled at the heart strings. I loved hearing about the healing power of music along with the connections music can bring to our lives.

A study on compassion and connection in healthcare through music

This book combines science and humanity through beautiful storytelling. It contains a number of heartfelt vignettes about patients finding hope, peace, and meaning during difficult or impossible circumstances. Each story is powerful. I learned, laughed, and cried and felt better prepared to support myself or a loved one through a painful, stressful experience. I listened while preparing for Thanksgiving which seemed appropriate as it left me grateful that in 2025 there are kind, good people whose whole existence is dedicated to bringing peace and hope to others.

The power of presence

I spent a long car ride listening to Danielle’s stories and experiences and the biggest theme I took away was the power of presence. As an LCSW, I’ve experienced the importance of being fully immersed with a client and Danielle’s gift of music and presence makes this such a great listen. If you need to reset, get a sense of being grounded, or just want to listen to some good in the world this is for you.
