When people say the word slave, most think of unpaid, uneducated workers with little to no professional skills. However, this is not the case, and that word "slave" erases the genius of those who were in bondage.

In the United States of America, African Americans were in bondage for centuries, and despite being in bondage and known as "slave", these men and women, as well as their descendants, contributed remarkably to the foundation and success of the country by doing the same jobs we "professionals" do today, from those in healthcare to designers and more except they didn't get paid.

Your job is the same as many of the jobs the enslaved performed, so when you think the word "slave", no matter your race, don't erase the excellent skills that the word tends to dismiss. The enslaved were doing some of the same jobs that you need a degree to do, and they did it without one, and maybe even better.
