She is the ruler of a sovereignless city.

Her crown is one of sorrow, not of gold.

Her reign will begin with their end.

When a shocking betrayal shatters the throne, a new queen will rise. Forged in the fire of loss, she is armed with a legendary sword and burdened by a grief that will either drown the world or save it.

In the high halls of the SunSpire Citadel, a prince stands on the edge of his coronation. A fierce orphan-his betrothed-stands by his side with a heart half bound to duty and half buried in passion. A young mage on the cusp of unlocking powers, unnamed, knows only a love unrequited.

"The three stood, immovable, in the center of the ring, the torchlight flickering around them, casting their shadows long and intertwining. Three in one, forever and always."

These are the tales of those who did not ask for greatness but could not escape it.

This is the first song and the first sorrow.

Welcome to the world of Y'ssara. Welcome to The Singing Blade.

THIS STORY!  Prepare to face most of your emotions in one book. The Singing Blade is reminiscent of “Lord of the Rings” with its world building, unique characters, and magical system. That’s not to say it copies LOTR. It doesn’t. It’s a totally unique tale with its own quirky, heroic, and dastardly characters, but it has the tone of a true epic fantasy. It has heartbreak beyond belief, but somehow the good shines through. There are truly loveable characters you want to cheer for and those you hate. There’s going to be another book, so now I have to wait to see who wins, but I suspect good triumphs. I’ll be rereading this again next year. The narrator is amazing and I caught myself humming the Outlander TV theme song because of her accent. (The author is a musician and needs to write an earworm like that one for this series 🤭 I could easily see this on the big screen.)
