For the Spirit, being somewhat forgotten is an occupational hazard. The Holy Spirit is so actively involved in our lives that we can take his presence for granted. As they say, familiarity breeds contempt. Just as we take breathing for granted, we can take the Holy Spirit for granted simply because we constantly depend on him. More about Christian basics to me.
I guess I was hoping for more in depth information on the Holy Spirit so this felt a little more like Christianity 101 to me. It was good and in several places really good. Some great points about the role of the Spirit in the Old Testament, the continuity of the Spirit under the Old and New Covenants, and the work of the Spirit in salvation and sanctification. I'm glad I listened to it and would definitely recommend it. I especially appreciated the "checklists" of experiences that a true Christian should be able to see in their lives that indicate they have the Spirit and therefore are saved.
