A guide worth listening to

I really enjoyed this audiobook! This is a guide worth listening to! Trust me, I am an avid reader of all the self-help books out there: including Carnegie, Hill, Covey, Bright, Clear, Dyer, Byrne, McConaughy.....so I am happy to say that this is along those lines. Now granted the author proclaims up front, he is no "expert". But his personal experience is "expert" enough for me.

What he talks about and the experiences he shares resonated with me so I found his conversational speaking style enjoyable. FYI: occasionally there are some words that you may not want your children to hear, not many, but enough to shock me to notice.

I listened to this in one go on a car ride home and loved the tips and resources at the end of each chapter. At first you might think that he is just repeating what has already been said before, but I believe that these are things that are worth repeating. A reminder of sorts, with a new relevant perspective. I'm sure I will be listening over and over again.

Insightful, actionable advice for anyone looking to assess new outlook and mindsets

The author did an excellent job of pinpointing common pitfalls and self imposed limitations we can all fall into from time to time, some without noticing right away. With straightforward tips, he supports readers in beginning to carve their own path forward that’s accessible by anyone willing to put in some time to reflect and act. His suggestions are timeless and can be useful to anyone despite their phase of life. I appreciated how straightforward yet compassionate Justin remained when explaining how and why we stay stuck in some of our patterns, and what we need to overcome within in order to grow.

Calm & Patient

In the latest addition to my library, I stumbled upon a remarkable work that seamlessly blends profound insights with an almost meditative prose. The author's mastery in weaving together intricate ideas with such a serene and unhurried rhythm is truly commendable. Reading through each page, one can't help but be drawn into a state of contemplation, guided by the gentle cadence of the author's voice.

This book serves not only as a repository of knowledge but also as a balm for the soul, inviting readers to slow down and absorb the wisdom it imparts at their own pace. The insights offered within its chapters are subtly profound, unraveling complexities of the human experience in a manner that feels both intuitive and enlightening. It’s a rare find that encourages you to pause, reflect, and perhaps see the world through a slightly different lens.

What makes this piece stand out is its ability to address themes that resonate on a universal level, all while maintaining a calming narrative flow that soothes as it educates. It's a testament to the author's skill that such a wealth of knowledge is delivered with a grace that feels effortless, making the journey through its pages a tranquil voyage of discovery.

For anyone looking for a read that not only enriches the mind but also calms the spirit, this book is a treasure trove of serene wisdom. Its quiet confidence in the insights it shares, paired with the peaceful tempo at which they are presented, makes it a beacon for those seeking clarity in the midst of life’s storms.

Top 5 self help books

You can’t really call it self-help, it’s more like guidance through anecdotes. The writing is so straightforward and really concise messages that felt clear to understand. Other books with the same content beat around the bush but this got straight to the point. I really liked the authors perspective.

Gustavo’s Review

I’ve told myself too many times that I am fed up with my own crap, just to mindlessly plow through that moment of clarity by gettin back on the comfort and shame merry go round. That fleeting desire of wanting to engage in opposite action can feel overwhelming, like an uncomfortable silence that you want to eagerly fill with small talk. Justin Kornmann’s book is the perfect companion to help you navigate that moment while you sort out that one step you need to take in another direction. Justin provides a generous outline, rich with resources, of an honest experience without the pretense of being the only or right solution. The chapter about victimhood really spoke to me. It articulated beautifully that desire for validation that we all have and how easily it can warp our perception of where our focus needs to be. This guide encouraged me to feel and free my emotions instead of becoming them. It invited me to a party where I stood in front of the merry go round instead of hoping on to explore why I wanted to ride it in the first place. And to answer Justin’s question in the last chapter: I’m here to be, to rage with the sea, to howl with the wind, to rot under the sun, to dance with the moon, over and over and over.
