Missing Arapaho and Return of Old Indian Ritual

In this excellent installment to the Wind River Mysteries, Dean Little Horse has gone missing. His aunties have summonsed Father O'Malley to search for him. Father O'Malley has an assistant at the mission who is more interested in getting the mission closed than helping, and a review of whether or not to continue the St. Francis mission is underway. However, John O'Malley, worried as he may be, continues to serve the Arapaho, as if his life and the mission did not hang in the balance. Vicky Holden, attorney for the Arapaho, is in a quandary. He ex-husband, Ben Holden is back and demanding a reconciliation in a very public and angry argument. But he is found murdered the next day . . . with Vicky the main suspect. And the moccasin telegraph is spreading the news that the Shadow Dance religion of the old Ghost Dancers of the past has resurged with a new prophet, Orlando, promising the coming of a new world. But the more that Father O'Malley investigates this Orlando, the more he learns that he is not who he claims to be. And what he is proclaiming to the Arapaho is not the peaceful religion of the past. It is a race to the end to find Ben's true killer, vindicate Vicky, and try to find the young missing Dean Little Horse. Nothing is as it appears. Great story and an ending well worth the wait!
