honestly horrible

So glad I was not around in the 1800s. Aside from the lack of penicillin, I would most likely die from boredom if this book was considered hauty entertainment. The weird omniscient POV left much to be desired. It read (listened) more like the most dreadful documentary you've ever watched in history class. I am so angry that I wasted any amount of money on this even though it's in the public domain (for kindle users or anyone with Google) just to attempt to learn during my morning commute. The narrator's voice was droll and offered no hint of inflection to mark emotion or suspense.
