After the near destruction of Earth 2000 years ago, Nephilim were sent down to watch and protect the humans from the corruption of the fallen angels. Jacob, unknowing of his destiny, was brought up on a quiet farm in what was once the Islands of Japan. His father, Ezekiel, a samurai since birth, teaches Jacob the ways of Bushido. However, his family holds a secret. Once Jacob comes of age, he discovers that he and his family aren’t what they seem, they are the Nephilim charged with overseeing the evolution of the human race.
Tragedy follows him home one day, and Jacob is plunged into the unknown. He journeys into lands foreign to him and is forced to fight for his life and for his revenge.

Praise for Luke Dimech
A refreshing male-led fantasy novel, with a good mix of characters and settings
Jacob's story is one of innocence, strength and purity, refreshing in this genre and especially with a male lead! The twists and turns kept me gripped and the settings were diverse, keeping the story at a good pace. I thoroughly appreciated the mix of old and 'modern' culture in the world, giving a unique spin on the dystopian setting. It definitely is an enjoyable read!
Very Enjoyable Book
I usually do not read fantasy books, but this is an exception. I enjoyed all parts of this book from beginning to end. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Couldn't put it down
This book had me hooked very early on, which really surprised me as it's not the kind of thing I normally read. I read it in 3 days, at every opportunity, times between reading I found myself pondering the plot and characters, I was totally immersed in this amazing tale. Surprises come thick and fast and the writing of such quality I found my heart race and hairs on the back of my neck standing up on several occasions. The plot was never predictable and kept me guessing until the end. I can't recommend this book highly enough and eagerly await part 2.
