Getting married to Dorian is all Julia ever wanted. So when he proposes to her, she should be happy…

“The minute Dorian grabbed her hand, a serene calm came over her. All her worries instantly vanished. She felt at ease. When she looked at him, she could see the tears in his eyes as he too fought back the urge to cry.” Julia Alexander’s life is about to change. The forever in love nurse is the happiest she has ever been in her life. Her relationship is moving in the right direction when Dr. Dorian Carver proposes to her. However, when an old flame of his comes to Oakwood on business, Julia finds herself in a difficult position between fully trusting her happiness and being threatened that Dorian’s heart may be elsewhere. Life becomes even more complicated when Julia meets a foxy older painter whose artwork is as striking as his ability to make women swoon for his attention. As the artist pushes her boundaries, Julia has to discover for herself what she truly wants out of life. Julia has some important choices to make as she struggles to face the fact that she deserves to be happy. Treat yourself to this whirlwind contemporary romance in the next stage of Julia Alexander’s life in Oakwood. Excerpt: Two days before, Dorian was sitting across from Julia at Al Crostino, an Italian restaurant on the outskirts of Oakwood. They were seated in the restaurant’s back garden where the intoxicating smell of herbs grown on the grounds took over the air. Dorian particularly noted the smell of parsley more than usual. It had been a month since he left his job at the Hospital and opened his private practice. Julia had returned from a trip to Munich with Marisa. The distance between the two of them for the duration of her trip had more of an effect on him than he expected. He found that he missed her more and more each day. They’d speak on the phone from time to time, but he was wary of interrupting her time with her best friend. More importantly, Dorian did not want to appear needy. That he was in need of her presence and her laughter and the way her lashes moved swiftly when she blinked, was his secret and his burden to bear. She had been talking now for twenty minutes non-stop and he watched and listened. He smiled from time to time to communicate active listening, but he did not want to interject. He had nothing of substance to say. She looked even more beautiful than he remembered. Was it possible for someone's beauty to change within a few weeks? He wondered. Then he asked himself if he was obsessing too much about the beautiful curly haired blonde sitting across from him. “Are you ready to order?” the middle-aged waiter with the black apron on came over to the table. Dorian shook his head. “I think we need another minute,” he said. He undid the top button of his dress shirt. “Oh my God, I’ve been talking so much I didn’t even look at the menu,” she said and chuckled, “I’m such an idiot sometimes,” she added. He chuckled. The waiter walked away. “It’s okay. You’re excited,” Dorian said. “Are you excited to see me?” she asked, “I’ve missed you a lot,” she said before he could answer. “I’m very excited to see you,” he said as he opened the menu. She smiled and looked down at the menu. Dorian barely looked at the menu. He was happy to see her. He hadn’t expected to feel so elated to see Julia. Prior to her going on the trip with Marisa, Dorian was wondering if the two of them had been spending too much time together. He never expressed these thoughts to her. He feared he’d hurt her feelings. But now, having her back home, he realized that he did not want to be away from her.
