Sometimes, the past refuses to stay buried.
A class reunion is supposed to be a celebration. It’s a chance to reconnect with old friends, reminisce about the good times, and laugh about the memories that once seemed so important. It’s where the former prom queen and star quarterback can relive their glory days, where stories of former exploits take on legendary status, where people pretend that the past was better than it actually was.

For some people a class reunion is something to look forward to.

But not Jake Collins.

High school had been anything but kind to him. Never part of the popular crowd, Jake spent most of those years feeling angry and invisible—trapped between feelings of isolation and an abusive home life. A painful break-up was the final nail in the coffin that led him to show Bangor, Indiana his tail lights and never look back.

Jake left his suffocating home town and started a new life in sunny Los Angeles where he could finally become the man he was meant to be. He thrived in LA. He found safety there, and success.

Then the invitation arrived.

That simple envelope stirred up emotions that he thought had been locked away deep in his past. Against his better judgment and after relentless encouragement from his friends, he agreed to attend. It would be an opportunity for closure, a way to prove that he had truly moved on. It was only one night, after all. What’s the worst that could happen?

But Jake wasn’t the only one who had suffered in high school. For some of his classmates, the humiliation never went away and the scars never healed. Some wounds simply could not be forgotten.

Some people waited ten years to celebrate. Others waited ten years for revenge.

And that revenge had a body count.
