In First Corinthians chapter fifteen, Paul talked in great detail about the resurrection of the dead. He had already had an unpleasant experience with the Greek scholars and philosophers at Mars hill because they did not believe in the resurrection of the dead. Also many of the Greeks in Corinth did not think that the dead will be resurrected either.

So First Corinthians chapter fifteen is often called the resurrection chapter because Paul went into great detail about it for the benefit of the Corinthian saints. But as much as anything, his message to them was also in response to some of those who did not think that the dead will rise. For that reason, he provided some details about the resurrected body. One interesting detail is that he responded to the Greeks who did not understand how the Lord could raise a dead person who had already decomposed into dust.

So Paul explained that kind of stuff to them. He also talked some about the Rapture of the Church, and death and the grave being swallowed up in victory. He talked, too, about the mechanics of how the resurrection of the dead will occur and even an order and timeframe for when it will happen. So he did not leave out any of the important details.

Two other things that have been included in this text are four of the more popular opposition theories to the resurrection and how biblical scholars have responded to them. Also included is how some individuals have arrived at the conclusion that the Rapture of the Church will not happen until the middle of the Tribulation. So a brief response to that view has also been given since this text does not agree.

There is one note, however, to be made before ending this introduction with respect to the organization of this text. Something that the reader might find useful, in the NON-AUDIO version of this text, is figures throughout that show the different passages that are referenced at the times and in the places where they are referenced.

That way, he or she will not have to jump all over the place or get into or out of the scriptures to locate a particular reference. Hopefully that inclusion will help the reader better understand the various events and to also put them into their right context. It is also hoped that that will make this book easier to read and that the Lord will receive the praise, honor, and glory that He rightfully deserves. Of course, in the AUDIO version of this text, those figures will NOT be used because that would make it an extremely difficult experience for listening to or for trying to understand.
