When Margaret Morland (Margaret Dashwood, as was) and her husband, Doctor Morland (Catherine's brother from Northanger Abbey) find themselves detained in Corfu by the Wickhams after the Bennetts have gone home, they look forward to nothing but a winter of running after Lydia Wickham's children until the next ship for England arrives.

But Doctor Morland is very soon summoned to the wilds of Epirus to tend to a Turkish potentate, and they both find themselves involved in a revolt against the Sublime Porte, and the rescue of an old friend.

Margaret will need all her wit and ingenuity to see them all safe home.
