Acerca de esta escucha
John Henry "Doc" Holliday, had come to Glenwood Springs Colorado to take in the healing mineral waters of the Yampah Hot Springs and Cave. This was his last desperate attempt to heal his diseased lungs from the ravages of tuberculosis, known as consumption. The mineral hot water and vapor cave were known to the native Ute Indians as "Big Medicine Waters," that they considered to be very sacred ground. This is also a story of love, redemption, conversion and baptism into the Catholic Church before his death. His first cousin, the one true love of his life, Mattie Holliday had begged and prayed for him to repent in her letters over the 14 years since he left her in Georgia, in order to save his soul. So that they could be together in Heaven after death, as they were not able to be in life due to the fact that the Catholic Church would not allow first cousins to marry..
Doc's story takes place at the Hotel Glenwood which was a common place for lungers to stay while receiving treatments. His short life story being told to the two bellboys who are in charge of taking care of him during his 6 month stay. They ultimately became good friends as Doc shared valuable life and gambling lessons during his time there... . ..
