As Balor, Laurana, and others prepare to set out and restore the prophecy, Mara feels the call of adventure and sets out alone with the queen's spirit. Along the way, she finds more than she could have ever believed possible and the truth behind her thieving ways.
Meanwhile, with the rebirth of the knights, Hayden and Thrace find themselves trapped as leaders of the rebel armies and can no longer help with the prophecy. So, it is left to Balor, Laurana, and Na’Resse to chase their friend across the realm before she gets hurt.
Along the way, feelings are realized and denied as the past comes back to life. Hard truths are learned as war encompasses the realm. As all this happens, Little Flower grows into her powers and sets out to deliver a new prophecy about something even darker on the horizon.
