Second Time Around it s Charm!!

They met once before but neither was ready for a real commitment…they both needed time to find out who and what they were or could be…and that is what they did. But the stars work in strange ways…and when it is meant to be..it is meant to be. So, 6 years later when Holt is now running his own security firm and Eden has just taken over her grandfather’s hockey team they find themselves face to face one more time. I will say that Holt was the real foundation for me as he understood what Eden was about and what she needed. Unfortunately, it took him some time to realize that he was not just what she needed buy completely worthy. Loved how their mothers finally come together at that crazy Thanksgiving meal..and that we can read more about them throughout the rest of the Looking to Score series. I read it and I listened to the audible and it was such a sweet second time around is a charm story... Well done-5 stars!

Great story

The Rebel is an easy listening happy ever after. He’s her hero, she’s is dream girl. After meeting in college they go their separate ways until meeting again years later and realize the spark between them is still there. Jason Clarke does an amazing hero, Vanessa Edwin is great as the heroine.

Stellar Narration

Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin are among the best narrators. Love their warm sexy voices.

HBIC meets Tough guy

It's wonderful to see how Eden and Holt reconnect. I love how the hold back just a little but are also vulnerable and open. Holt doesn't give up. I was rooting for them all the way!💕

Loved the narrators and narrations!

Jason Clarke could voice my fantasies every and any day of the week. His voice is exactly the the kind of voice you need whispering, grunting, or growling in your ear. I always enjoy his work.

Vanessa Edwin is new to me and I am happy to say I found it easy to enjoy her performance. She's a natural and it flowed.

The Rebel, well, it was good. I liked the story but I didn't love it. I appreciated that Holt and Eden are "people" and have insecurities and hang ups. I just didn't feel like Eden was engaging. I didn't really connect with her. I needed Holt to get his HEA though so here she is.

It's a bummer because I really wanted to love this book. Guess I'm the Rebel here...

second chance

Eden goes through college with a crush on Alex, a rising hockey star. But before they get together she has a random night with Holt. They have this instant chemistry that your upset to find out didn’t go anywhere.

Flash forward several years where Eden now is the owner of her family’s hockey team (that Alex so happened to get transferred to as well), and Holt comes barreling back in her life as a bodyguard for her and the team.

There is no denying Holts feelings. The way his POV is written will make your heart melt. He just adores Eden and always feels like she’s the one that got away. I love seeing how these two reconnect and how their relationship develops.

This series is interconnected and leaves on a mild cliffhanger for Alex and makes you instantly want to dive into the next book.

I listened to the audio and was very please with both narrators.

Great narrating

I thought the story could have been more interesting, but otherwise, the book was good.

A great start to a new hockey series!

This is Book 1 in the Looking to Score Series and this audio was killah! Jason Clarke did not disappoint with his deep, raspy voice whispering in my ears *swoon* and I’d forgotten how much I love Vanessa Edwin, because it’s been a while since I’ve listened to her. She’s fantastic! Love her male voices, which by the way I think is so important for female narrators. She does a great job and has a lovely soft female voice that I was happy to listen to for literally hours!!!! This in my opinion was a rockstar pairing of narrators.

OK now onto the story. I loved it. There’s one night at university that was never forgotten by Eden or Holt, but life got in the way and it was years before they were reunited. They begin meeting secretly and although Eden let’s Holt have her body, he wants her heart and he goes after it like his life depends on it. It’s a bit of an emotional push and pull and I was here for all of it. She wants to keep him a secret but he wants to shout his love for her from the rooftops. There was some melty, bedroom goodness that made me want to just listen and leave that stop button alone. I devoured this book in just 24 hours, could not put it down.

Sweet steamy secon chance at happiness

Kendall Ryan’s new hockey series is off to a great start. This first book belongs to Eden and Holt. Holt isn’t her type and deep down he new it. Eden comes from money and a well-known family which has had their share of publicity since her dad was the governor. Holt is just an average guy with his share of troubles. After spending a super steamy night in college Holt wakes up the next morning and Eden is gone. Now 6 years later their paths will cross again. Will that chemistry still be there? Will Eden realize that she made a mistake all those years ago?
I knew from the beginning I was going to love this book. Super sweet second chance romance that will capture your heart. Holt was kind, loving, protective and super-hot. The chemistry between him and Eden was off the charts. We meet so many characters in this first book and the guys on the team are a hot mess. I can’t wait for the next book.
If you enjoy audible books then you will want to snatch this one right up because Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin know how to narrate and they did a great job with The Rebel. Well worth the credit.
