Ten years after the events of Riders of the Purple Sage, John Shefford, a disillusioned preacher from Illinois travels to Arizona and takes refuge in a village controlled by polygamist Mormons hiding from the federal government. I listen to it first to another version, another reader and oh it was horrible. I couldn’t understand what the man said so then I went back and got this one and it was really good. The story not as good as I remembered from reading it as a child. Too many long, Long descriptive passages that became very repetitive and boring.
