A horrendous Indian massacre took the lives of many colonists. Of the one-hundred and fifty women who arrived in Jamestown, hoping for a new life, only about thirty survived in the next six years.
An Indian massacre in March of 1622 killed over 300 colonists, many of whom were the young brides.
However, through it all, the American Dream was born in Jamestown, Virginia.
