Reseñas de la Crítica

The dream team delivers big time … Clinton’s insider secrets and Patterson’s storytelling genius make this the political thriller of the decade. (Lee Child)
The President Is Missing is a big, splashy juggernaut of a novel, combining thrills with a truly authentic look at the inner happenings in Washington. I read it in one gulp. You will too. (Harlan Coben, #1 bestselling author of DON'T LET GO)
The book’s biggest selling point is the guarantee of political authenticity… the kite-mark of unmatchable psychological veracity… The eventual revelation of the villain, which is satisfying and surprising, really does feel like the outcome of a conversation between one writer with an unusual skill at thriller plotting and another with an exceptional grasp of global politics. The literary running mates have earned a second term.
An entertaining romp… thoroughly enjoyable… it works. It is a quick, slick, gripping read
Page-turning… In a plot crammed with twists, readers are granted thriller writing that delivers… Nobody will walk away from The President Is Missing feeling disappointed if they are looking for a vigorous, fast-moving thriller that takes the reader into the corridors of power (Barry Forshaw)
A brilliant, tricksy first chapter… unmistakably shows that their partnership worksThe President Is Missing enthrallingly interweaves a cyber-thriller, a Homeland-style battle against jihadi terrorism and a find-the-mole hunt à la Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy – and it has aspects of a Cold War geopolitical thriller, too… To paraphrase Katherine Hepburn on Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Bill gives James class and James gives Bill sexed-up plotting
The plotting is immaculate… the writing is taut (Josh Glancy)
Marry the political savvy of Bill Clinton with the craftsmanship of James Patterson and you get a fabulously entertaining thriller that is meticulous in its portrayal of Washington politics, gripping in its pacing, and harrowing in its depiction of the perils of cyberwarfare. This dark tale is, at bottom, a warning and a prophecy about the mortal threats to our democracy posed by terrorists abroad, homegrown extremism, and the technological miracles that have rendered us both powerful and defenceless at once. (Ron Chernow, #1 bestselling and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of ALEXANDER HAMILTON and GRANT)
A high-octane collaboration... the addictive qualities are undeniable
A bullet train of a thriller. The Day of the Jackal for the twenty-first century. (A.J. Finn, author of THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW)

Loved the sensationalism. Good fiction. The authors capitalize on the current day threat of cyber attacks and convert it into a thrilling story. I won't be surprised if a Hollywood movie is created from this. But after all fiction is a fiction with no messages to take. The performance is absolutely superb.

Sensationaism Well Presented

The female narrators were actually very good. As was one of the males. But one .... the one playing the voice of the president (Dennis Quaid?) was unbelievably bad. His interpretation of a female voice could only be described as a caricature. On the up side the story was interesting.

OK story, beyond dreadful narration

Book is good, narration is terrible. Ended up buying it on Kindle, just couldn't make it past chapter 5 on audio :(

Narration by Quaid is just too painful to listen to

Loved it, but it can be a struggle if one is not politically astute... Bill..

The President is missing, a compelling read

Overblown and full of way too much trivial detail. Do we really need to hear every way a password can be entered for attempt after attempt. The plot is barely believable. The US president turns into a superhero again, but of course has the obligatory flaws. Overall pretty boring. The narration was flat, monotone, and just slow. Maybe, if you really want to try it, try using 1.5 speed.

A pity their editor lost the blue pencil.

I haven't read a James Patterson in a long time, and enjoyed this one, The narrators were really irritating, but I enjoyed Pres Cllinton delivering the speech at the end, nice to hear him again!
The middle was a bit boring and not much happened, but I suppose that is how politics are ... lots of boring parts.
The end was not what I expected at all! Great twist.

Enjoyable

I think this is one of James Patterson’s best. It is scary because it is possible.

This is a new world & we need to create a much better ‘back up’.

A Scary Read

Arrived at Chapter 9, how I haven’t already returned this.
If I wanted a play I would go to to theatre.
The narrator changing every 2 minutes is beyond annoying, just read the book. I will probably return this and buy on Kindle.

Annoying

So un-James Patterson.

I forced myself to listen to the long-winded dribble and by chapter 88 when I picked up the phrase "now slow is slowly" I could not have agreed more. We finally got a bit of motion by chapter 100 or so and when the nail-biting (yeah sure) problem is solved in chapter 112 I sigh with relief that it is close to finishing. Incredible characters

Don't waste your time on this very boring tale. It could be set up and solved in 6 chapters and still not have lost any of the story.

what a let down

I struggled so badly to finish this book. Oh it took forever for something to happen. I am really disappointed with this book. unfortunately, I would not recommend it

I kind of expected more
