This Thriller is fantastic. Well worth the credit. The opening scene is gripping, has you clenching your teeth, getting behind this president as he is attacked by political foe's. Then Patterson (probably) deftly compounds the presidents precarious situation with health issues (real life right). Clinton (obviously) serves up genuine insight into todays political climate, shit us 9-5ers never think about. Thank you Bill for that insight it was enlightening. About two hours in the president makes a decision that most humans can't even comprehend and he orders a strike that is sure to kill innocent children as collateral damage. Next you're gonna laugh out loud as he tries to drive a car. About five hours in and another barbarian at the gate while the others haven't been resolved yet, just continues to add to the insurmountable mountain that the president of the united states must face every day (all enemy's foreign and domestic right). Great line "Is there anything else Madam Vice President" will make your neck hair stand up. This book gives you much more respect for the office of the president and has a way of making your own personal complaints about the U.S. seem petty. Every single sentence in this book advances the plot and is gripping. THERE is NO fluff. Thanks Bill and James nicely done. Performance Dennis Quaid is Dennis Quaid, he did a great job (4 stars) would have loved his performance if he didn't do FBI Liz, but Dennis and the cast were still great.

Honestly from a 53 year old life long republican

I was so anxious for this book to become available; what a disappointment! I couldn’t stand the President’s gruff voice, which I believe was performed by Dennis Quaid. Awful! But, the story itself was boring! I’ve enjoyed so many of Mr. Patterson’s books, but certainly not this one. It was a struggle to listen as long as I did. I couldn’t endure the whole novel; just went to the end to give this review.

Very Disappointing!

I was never a James Patterson fan. His books never appealed to me. I watched him and the President do the late night circuit and figured it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.

Boy am I glad that I did! What a fantastic story! Sometimes it was obvious where the story was going, but there were plenty of “oh my God they didn’t!” moments. Great listen!

Great right until the end with political rant speech. Book was great until that part.

Good story

I loved this book from beginning to end!! I just pray we get a president in house who would be able to handle god forbid a situation like this if were to ever happen!

AWESOME

The narration was a tad over the top. POTUS’s voice was grating. Bach’s voice was more like the way a good storyteller should sound. The cyber side of the book was scary stuff.

Patterson delivers 100 chapters of cliffhangers

I would never have understood what it would really feel like to be interrogated by a Senate Select Committee. I could tell that the man who wrote this really did. In fact, that perspective was present throughout most of the book. The moments of self doubt and introspection were the best elements of the book. The storyline butted up against plausibility at points and other times violated an excessive wordiness principle. But maybe the movie will shave that into tolerance.

Felt like you were there.

The action and suspense persist to the "bitter end". I was absorbed in the dangers, the blind alleys, the red herrings, and the surprises.

James Patterson, Bill Clinton, and Dennis Quaid gives us a president who is solid in the crises and leads when he can.

Filled with heros, heroines, villians, and opportunists.

A Great Read, More Real Than Most

This novel is exciting, timely and suspenseful. We will keep you on the edge of your seat! The words of President Duncan echo in my mind and have me wishing our leadership could be true statesmen (and states women) such as he is.

Timely and fabulous book!

I was initially hesitant to purchase this book because I'm not really a Bill Clinton fan but I am a huge James Patterson fan and when I saw it was read by Dennis Quaid, I thought I'd give it a shot.

I don't like books that are told in first person and so when I first started listening, I was turned off by the first person account. It ended up being fine. Clearly, one of the advantages of having a former President co author the book is the authenticity of the story-line. This was a well told, well executed story that was very realistic and captivating. The suspense and thrill built up and I found myself sitting in my car, having arrived at my destination, on many occasions just sitting listening because I couldn't stop listening. I really enjoyed it.....UNTIL the very end. The final chapter is mostly dedicated to a political rant that I am sure is Bill Clinton's need for closure or something. I was completely turned off by it and disappointed that the book ended in this fashion. It is the only reason the book didn't get 5 stars.

Great story...until the political opinions
