The Plainsman – The Bounty Hunter begins the story of Samuel Jackson. Sam was to wear many hats during his life: freight wagon driver, wagon train scout, Deputy Town Marshal, Deputy Sheriff, scout for the 9th and 6th Cavalry, and U.S. Marshal for the Western Division of Texas.
Sam tracked and captured several killers, bandits, and other wanted individuals. All without having to kill any of them.
Working out of Austin and San Angelo, Texas, he monitored wanted posters until he found someone within riding distance to attempt to capture.
While Sam is camped for the night, a young woman drove up in a canvas covered wagon. As it turns out, her father had been kicked by a mule, the laceration got infected, and it turned into gangrene. The father died and Sam escorted the woman to San Angelo, Texas, where she gets a job in a restaurant.
Sam loves the woman but she doesn’t share his affection
