Homicide detectives Danny Boyland and Spider Webb have just retired from the NYPD. Less than two hours into his retirement, Spider’s home is invaded by two burglars. He shoots and kills them both – one white and one black. Despite being black himself, Spider is labeled as a racist cop and is subsequently convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. A bizarre series of events follows, culminating in Spider’s conviction being overturned.

The Boylands and Webbs are finally enjoying their retired lives of travel, golf, and hiking in the Carolina mountains when a strange murder occurs attributable to the mysterious, power-hungry association called The Group. Danny and Spider are pressed back into service to track down the killer, but tragedy strikes. Danny’s heart begins to seriously fail and his wife Tara develops Alzheimer’s disease. In a frantic race to find the killer and get the auto-immune medicine developed by The Group that will reverse Tara’s disease, the two old friends embark on one last desperate do-or-die mission.
