After hearing an interesting theory concerning the Battle of Kadesh at university, Aaron Green, descendant of a wealthy family from Massachusetts, is determined to take an expedition to the Middle East and start his own research. After securing sufficient funding, he tries to win over Ace Westfield, one of the most feared bounty hunters in the still existing Wild West, to accompanying them and to provide security. Westfield saves his life when he is attacked by bandits but declines the offer.

The expedition proves to be successful. They discover several important artifacts, but it is the Pharaoh's sword that is indisputably the most valuable. Aaron plans to set up an exhibition touring the States to pay back his financiers. But mysterious things start happening around the sword, causing great misery, until Aaron decides there is only one man who could help him. He goes West again, hoping to persuade the Red Rider to solve the mystery of the Pharaoh's sword.
