Rife with criticisms on Christianity and the technocracy, Bakunin presses communist values without fear of bordering extremism. Listening to this work is like walking through Bakunin’s disjointed mind; often cutting off and starting mid-sentence, including footnotes several paragraphs long as if his thoughts suddenly start to wander, as well as ending rather abruptly mid-sentence.

Originally written in French, The Conquest of Bread first appeared as a series of articles in the anarchist journal Le Révolté. It was first published in Paris with a preface by Élisée Reclus, who also suggested the title. Between 1892 and 1894, it was serialized in part in the London journal Freedom, of which Kropotkin was a co-founder. In the work, Kropotkin points out what he considers to be the defects of the economic systems of feudalism and capitalism and why he believes they thrive on and maintain poverty and scarcity.

Awakening
Social injustice, political strife, deep societal problems! Kropotkin's political views and stand on society's problems not only gave me a view into what it was like during his time but are strangely consistent with the climate of society today. Listening to these stories caused an awakening in my perception and perspective of the world we live in.
I realize from Kropotkin's rhetoric how impressionable, vulnerable, and fragile young people and society as a whole can be. Eye-opening!

Strong Views, Read and Listen With An Open Mind
This value collection offers Kropotkin’s most popular and highlighted observations about state and capitalism. His works explore in-depth the idea of a stateless society and a different way in living.
From my personal findings, this is the best collection of Kropotkin’s work, and I’d recommend it to anyone interested in the subject.

Wow!
These books are a must for anyone interested in political science. Especially mutual aid, as it argues against the very foundation of unquestioned political theory. That being competition and the assumed greed and laziness of humanity.
Even for those that like Darwin and Dawkins, mutual aid will make you do a double take on their works.
The perspective and insight in these books is simply remarkable.

I initially found this while considering Peter Kropotkin’s The Conquest of Bread.
It’s a political and historic staple for people looking to expand their political insights. This collection has opened me up to some of Kropotkin’s other works and his ideologies.

Highly Recommend
Illuminating, insightful and inspiring. Kropotkin's works are worth reading/listening to. Prior to downloading this, I didn't even know who Peter Kropotkin was. I'm so glad I got this audiobook!

Anarchy and History at its finest.
Listening to this collection was entertaining. Kropotkin’s political ideologies were not only revolutionary during his time; his work continues to inspire and will continue to influence future generations.

Worth the Listen.
Kropotkin's best collection yet. Some of the points that he makes are similar to our modern day anarchy influenced scholars, such as Michael Malice. Truely a great read !
