Compares to Shel Silverstein :)

I have found a new favorite author . . . whose wit and imagination is right up there with Shel Silverstein . . . I've bought all his books for my daughter as she grew up, and now my granddaughter (who is so like her mother) is enjoying those same books. Well, now grandma is gonna be introducing Abby to Dina Gregory . . . we all need a good dose of laughter, mixed with imagination and wonder. Soon Abby and I will be discussing the horrible Pelbunkin that hides down the bath drain!

Excellent for ALL ages through adult! 🤗

I LOVE THIS BOOK! Excellent to enjoy with vivid imagery, great story, and a FANTASTIC way to integrate vocabulary naturally surrounded by context clues with them 100% engaged & unaware they are even learning! THANK YOU DINA GREGORY!

I had 4th grade children underneath a blanket with eyes bulging listening to this story! I did a quick assessment & asked the 5 girls if they knew what's the words petrified, bulging, stench, peril, reared, glimpse, or evaded meant and not one of them knew any of these words. I also asked them if they had ever been told they were not allowed to read younger children's books because they were too babyish. All of the children nodded in a shameful manner.

At the end we went over the words again and they all knew the meanings. They fully could see what I was teaching on writing skills with descriptive writing, beginning, middle, end, AND a 'Gotcha' or cliffhanger at the last leaving your reader in awe at the twist. The best was they now love the freedom to be able to read anything they love. 💖

OUTSTANDING BOOK! WELL DONE. 🎶
