The Paladin's Curse

What Vindin wanted most in life was friends, but his monstrous appearance was so terrifying he needed a magical disguise to walk among humankind. For centuries he wandered from town to town seeking companionship, always to be discovered and run out of town by murderous mobs.

Through with living a life of deception, he doffs his disguise and vows to live alone, but shortly into his life of solitude he meets Sir Beronius, a disgraced Paladin afflicted with lycanthropy, doomed to murder innocents by the light off the full moon. But he was also a man who was able to see past Vindin’s trollish exterior and into the heart of the man beneath

Thrilled with the prospect of making a friend, Vindin vows to help Sir Beronius find a cure for his affliction and they set off to find the one who cursed him, believing that killing him would break the spell.

Along the way, they meet a roguish prince named Conlin, and a prodigal wizard named Avidrea, and together they journey to the faraway land of Pyrones seeking a cure for the paladin’s curse.

Unexpected Delight

The story started off one way and then took off in a different direction. Each step of the journey added a new and interesting, well-developed character. I enjoyed the bond of friendships and the plot. The choice of virtual voice was bearable. I’m glad there’s a second book.
