I decided to walk the length of the west coast of the United States by following the mountains of the Pacific Crest Trail. By the time my journey was completed, I did not recognize myself, for not only had I grown, but I had also become a stranger to the man who set out with a soul full of foolhardy optimism from the Mexican Border in late April. So much time to reflect, so many isolated hours spent gazing into the depths of myself and my innermost thoughts. This was my journey, this was what drove me away from a normal path in life and into that of the modern nomad.
