Christmas Novellla with some shenanigans

High school sweethearts Macy and Jordan were meant for each other until he broke up with her for her safety. Macy was a fighter and would take up for Jordan after she met him and found out about his home life. Years later, they are the best man and maid of honor in the same wedding.

This sweet couple was torn apart, but the heart wants what it wants. Everyone around them was "shipping" them back together with all the shenanigans, including the bear and elves with escape rooms. There's 2 spicy peppers rating for a reason 🤣. And for reference, the father of Jordan got what was coming to him. A toxic or abusive parent will never learn to humble themselves or even apologize for the messes they create. Good riddens, Mr. Smith.

I really enjoyed hearing this story come to life by the narrators. Casey did a great job bringing heartbroken Macy to revive her love for Jordan. Gabe brought Jordan out as the protector of Macy that we always knew was rekindling their second chance.

I love this story!

Casey Montgomery and Gabe Walsh-Shore were so good as Macy and Jordan. Both of them were new to me narrators and they still managed to suck me into the story. I look forward to listening to more from these two!

Oh man, Jordan and Macy took me on quite the reading experience in this second chance, somewhat enemies-to-lovers, holiday romance. I am a sucker for second chance and I couldn't wait to get into this story and Ms. Whaley did not disappoint at all.

From the moment Jordan meets Macy he is drawn to her and they have a whirlwind high school romance. His life is by no means glamorous by any means and he does the best he can for himself but also has the love of Macy's family. When Macy takes a stand on his behalf and ends up in harms way he does the last thing he wanted to and breaks her heart telling her they can no longer be together on Christmas Day, her favorite holiday. Fast forward 10 years and they are in a forced proximity situation for her sister's wedding.

I loved, loved, loved how Jessica has Macy not happy with Jordan on the outside but inside she is still just as drawn to him as he is her. He has never stopped loving her but thought he was doing right by her all those years ago. It does not take long for them to start reconnecting and we get flashbacks in the midst of all this which I feel enhanced their connection even more. Jordan will do anything for Macy except give her the truth about why he did what he did 10 years ago but then his hand is forced and the truth comes out.

Ms. Whaley manages to keep the reader wondering throughout the entire story what in the world caused Jordan to leave in the first place and I really enjoyed how she played that part of the storyline out and turned Jordan into the best man for Macy giving her the love of Christmas once again.
