Resumen del Editor

Join San Francisco native Jack Armstrong in a high stakes race against Russian mobsters in search of a beautiful new client’s inherited treasure, clues to which lie among sunken Gold Rush ships, an 1860s San Francisco poker game, the Virginia City Territorial Enterprise and Nevada’s Silver mines.

Born in San Francisco, James Woods is a California and New York attorney. He helped create the International Commission on Holocaust Era Insurance Claims, the California Earthquake Authority, and the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (AB with Honors), and the University of California, Davis (JD). He and his wife, Valerie, split their time between the vineyards of Sonoma and the beaches of Santa Monica where they have residences.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Jack Armstrong arrives in his first adventure. Fast-paced, well-written with excellent historical details, The Niantic Caper is a must-read this summer sitting on the beach or by pool drinking a margarita." (R. David Freeman, co-founder, Sonoma Valley Authors Festival)

Enjoyable History

Very pleasant mystery set in San Francisco. I live in San Francisco so I was pleased that the author got the details right. I love history and the book has an interesting premise which is based on fact from gold rush days. Crews really did abandon their ships when they got to San Francisco (aka Yerba Buena) during the gold rush and remains of the ships are often discovered when there is construction in the downtown area. One detail of the book really surprised me. At one point Jack Armstrong takes a date to see The African Queen at the Vogue theatre which shows new as well as old movies. I saw the same movie at the same theatre in 1968. A small detail but for me it was an extra pleasure in the pains the author took to get the details right.
