In the Bible, there are over 150 Psalms written by various authors many years ago. Among these, Psalm 91 stands out as one of the best-known and most beloved. There are compelling reasons for its enduring popularity.
Psalm 91 addresses the universal issue of fear, a common challenge faced by many. In today's world, marked by escalating crime, violence, and hatred, individuals seek various means to cope with fear and ensure their safety. While debates about personal gun ownership continue, the underlying motivation often stems from a desire for security.
However, Psalm 91 offers a different perspective. It doesn't discuss weapon ownership but instead focuses on finding safety amidst perilous circumstances, including those involving weapons. The Psalm addresses various dangers, both natural and unintentional, presenting trust in God as the ultimate response.
"The New Covenant Psalm" preserves the poetic and elaborate language of the Old King James Version deliberately. This language serves as a backdrop for conveying the Psalm's profound truths in more accessible terms found in the New Testament. The aim is not to obscure the meaning of Psalm 91 but to illuminate it for listeners.
