Resumen del Editor

Brayden has a bad attitude and a temper to match. Caspian has his own rep to protect and can't decide if Brayden is friend or foe. The decision is made for him when Brayden attacks Dylan, a stereotypically gay boy who is known for being too aggressive in his pursuit of young men. Caspian steps in to save Dylan and so begins a mutual distrust between Caspian and Brayden that repeatedly threatens to come to blows. Despite being nearly bashed by Brayden, Dylan won't back off. The gay boys of Bloomington are certain Dylan's obsession will come to grief, but then Brayden steps in to save his stalker. As Caspian and Brayden get to know each other, they realize they both have their own demons and more in common than they ever guessed. Tyler and Caspian stagger through their new romance, trying to balance taking things slowly with their mutual lust. Tyler's dad and Caspian's uncle are dating as well, adding further complications. As the older generation comes closer to pulling the four together as a family, the relationship between Tyler and Caspian grows increasingly awkward. The young boyfriends may soon be brothers! What will they do then?

Another magnificent YA from Mark A Roeder

I always give Mark A Roeder stories five stars no thinking involved because the characters feel so familiar to me. I wish when I was a teen gay life was as filled with great friends and of course sexy boyfriends. I had to settle for just one boyfriend :)

Great story!

This is one of Mark's best writings! Very detailed and very sexual. I love how the two bad asses got into each other's faces, and I'm surprised that those two ended up together and not with Dillion! Mark covered a very sensitive topic (suicide) and covered it with grace, humor, and the after-effects of the subject. I hope there is a follow-up book for this one? Wonder where Braden & Caspean end up at?

Voice and Story should align

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The characters were too old to be teens. Too much rationalization, too many fully developed characters. May have been better as college age group. The narrator was very out of touch and did not convey voicing in a realistic manner. Very straight, bland, and uninterested in what he was providing.

Would you recommend The New Bad Ass in Town to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend the story as a self read rather than an audible.

How could the performance have been better?

Voice and storyline in agreement with each other

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

None
