"New Atlantis" is an incomplete utopian novel by Sir Francis Bacon. Bacon portrayed a vision of the future of human discovery and knowledge, expressing his aspirations and ideals for humankind. I think the author wanted maximum authenticity. Maybe I'm not scholarly enough to appreciate it all. The deliberate mispronounciation of modern words was just too much to listen to. I have and ear for languages, speak three pretty well, and some of two others, and this tome drove me crazy. Was this supposed to be middle English? I know English has changed a lot, but this just seemed gratuitously strange.

Very archaic vocabulary.
