The Boxcar Children have entered the Ruby Hollow Gem Mine’s annual gem-hunting competition. With a little instruction and the right gear, the Aldens have everything they need to become real rock hounds! They have a natural talent for rock-finding, and it’s not long before Jessie makes a fabulous find. But before she can enter her ruby in the competition, it disappears!
Could there be a thief at the mine? Now, instead of digging for rocks, the Aldens are digging for clues. Who wants to win the contest so much that they would steal from the Aldens? The children don’t know, but they’re determined to find out!

Mystery of the Star Ruby Review
For the Performance, it is perfectly clear, and the voices are very descriptive. The emotions are also descriptive. As for the story, it makes very clear sense, and the characters are pretty realistic. I don't necessarily see a big climax, but it is explanatory. There are also several suspects with supporting evidence to show that any of them could have committed the crime, which sets up the foundation for a good mystery. It is also very easy to put pictures and movements to what you hear. In summary, The Mystery of the Star Ruby has a solid foundation, a very interesting set-up, and is a great mystery story that will grab any readers attention! I hope more people will listen to this story and enjoy it just as much as I do!

Good story
Would you listen to The Mystery of the Star Ruby again? Why?
My 9 year old daughter enjoyed listening to this mystery. She loves the Boxcar series and would love to listen to it again since the story is well told.
Did Aimee Lilly do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes, the audio book is easy to follow and understand.

We look forward to listening to the rest of the Boxcar books.

Love It 😍!
I love gems 💎 so this is the perfect book for me but I don’t think that the voices are as good as they should be.
