At times we may find ourselves in this desert, feeling lonely, without purpose, seeking love, not knowing what to do, or where do go. Even if we have this desire for God, we might find ourselves in a very dry place and alone. You might picture yourself in a desert with nothing around—you may say a spiritual dryness.
When in times like these, one may feel not wanting to pray, maybe not wanting to attend Church, or feel distracted. Or prayer becomes very short because one may find no motive behind doing these things. Embarking on these journeys of loneliness, depression, or isolation is, least to say, not one of the funniest moments, but it can be the most reflective times of our lives, even if they are the darkest times that one has walked through.
It may feel like you were lost out at sea, and it will take a million years to walk on shore. Once you step foot on shore, not only does it feel good to be stepping on land, but you look at the experience, the journey you were on, with a purpose, with a new meaning of life, with a journey fulfilled with something greater: knowing that God never abandoned you and has walked with you the entire journey.
