"The Misplaced Battleship" is a sci-fi short story by author Harry Harrison, published in 1960. James Bolivar DiGriz, alias "Slippery Jim" and "The Stainless Steel Rat", is a fictional character and the protagonist of a series of comic science fiction novels by the same author. "Slippery Jim" is the listener's wonderfully sly, funny and resourceful hero in this entertaining and amusing work; where he has to investigate and - hopefully! - solve the case of a dangerous battleship floating around unaccounted for.©2016 Audioliterature (P)2016 Audioliterature Ciencia Ficción Ficción Divertido

Every good thief needs a competitor. Usual Harry Harrison humor. don't take him serious.

Fun classic

Where does The Misplaced Battleship rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Pretty well. This is a minor entry in the Stainless Steel Rat series. Basically a snippet from the very first book. The performance matched the slightly over the top personality of the main character.

What did you like best about this story?

The performance was actually pretty fun. It added to the story.

What does Edward Miller bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The acting and inflections. Where reading it the dialogue comes across as a deadpan humor, here, the character gains more theatrical persona that matches the character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It's a satirical book, so moved is not really appropriate. I did chuckle a lot throughout.

Any additional comments?

If you have the first novel, "The Stainless Steel Rat" you already have this story. If you want a taste of the series without the large time investment, this is a good option. Fun.
