And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
(Matthew 2:11, KJV)

The three wise men brought the baby Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Every December 25th Christmas day, we celebrate the birth of Jesus with the giving of gifts to family and friends. St. Nicholas was well known as a kind and generous man who gave gifts and thus contributed heavily to building up the tradition of giving gifts on Christmas.
Saint Nicholas was born on March 15 in the year 270 AD in Patara, Turkey. He died December 6th, 343 AD in Myra, Turkey at the age of 73. He became a priest and then became the Bishop of Myra, Turkey. He was known not only for the giving of gifts to children but was known as a “wonder worker” or “miracle worker.”
This book is a biography of his life. It is written in an unusual literary style combining a biographical historical drama within the style of a play.
This story begins in the year 280 AD when Nicholas was 10 years old.
