The Iranian nuclear program is peaceful. The United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency has conducted inspections, and they are convinced the world has nothing to worry about. Of course, no one has asked why a country sitting on top of one of the largest oil reserves and one of the largest natural gas reserves on Earth needs nuclear energy. For them, nuclear energy is the most expensive of the three. Iran has more than three hundred nuclear facilities scattered throughout the country: in the mountains, in the desert, and even in the basements of hospitals and schools. Some are hidden deep underground. Some are research facilities. Others, such as the uranium enrichment plants, the heavy water plant, and the heavy water reactor, can only serve one purpose: to develop nuclear weapons.

Iran has openly taken the position that it intends to wipe Israel from the face of the Earth. Israel cannot afford to sit in the crosshairs of Iran’s nuclear program. Israel now knows how David felt when he went up against Goliath. Compared to Israel, Iran is a giant. But just like in the ancient Biblical story, Israel will have to win this confrontation using brains and wit instead of might. David used rocks as missiles. Israel will use bombs. And, like David, they will try to fight from a distance. It is a battle they cannot afford to lose. Perhaps the Messiah, a descendant of David, will save Israel from destruction.
