The Sahls of the Sea Barrows remake their bodies with the skin of beasts. They meld spiral horns to their skulls, embed the razor teeth of sea-beasts in their arms, and cloak their backs with the pelts of wolves. Women of wealth embellish their flesh with tufted tails, plumed wings, and serpent scales as elegant as black lace, their human skin no longer desirable.

Then they bear children. Creatures like Aeris.

Trapped in the flesh of a murdered man, Aeris joins a dogged crew of renegades, each cursed by the same cruel fate. Their goal is simple—to destroy Pathway, no matter the cost.
