Resumen del Editor

Secrets had torn them apart...and reunited them in a way neither had expected.

She is the last person Dallas Walker ever wants to see again. Still, this U.S. Marshal has no problem taking Joelle Tate into "protective custody" - on her wedding day. To save his family from unjust charges, he'd take on a lot worse than an ex-flame he couldn't trust. But Dallas doesn't know Joelle has put her freedom on the line to protect him. Now with only two days to investigate a long-buried crime no one wants solved, they must confront their past mistakes, and the shattering secret that drove them apart. Giving in to the simmering desire may lead to an impossible second chance - or help set a trap one calculating killer can't wait to spring....

Good read..

Any additional comments?

This was a good book. I first read Justice is Coming and realized after I read it that it was book 5, I do hate that. So, I went to number 1 so I would know who all the players are. I did like the story but as I said in my book 5 review I hate books with sex in them but the author wants to use words like heck and darn and mercy. I thought maybe she'd done it in book 5 and had done something different in book 1..NOT.. She continued to use those stupid words. There was sexual tension throughout the whole book, and sex too but refused to use damn? In a cop book? Really? I've bought Wanted, the last book and that's all. I can see that every one of them are going to be full darn, hecks, and mercies and I just can even read that anymore. Either really swear or don't but those words are rediculous.. IMO..

As to the narrator: Hmmm..What can I say? In my review of book 5 I said something was missing but didn't know what it was. Now I do: when you're in the woods, hiding from killers wouldn't you think that anything you said would be in a whisper? Well, it wasn't. The narrator spoke in a regular voice and when the sex was going on she read without emotions, like she couldn't wait to be through with that part. I did want to know who helped the killer but I've decided to just buy "Wanted" on Amazon and simply read it. I have to say that Ms. Stevens did make the men sound like men but there's more to reading a book than sounding manly.

The Marshal's Hostage

The narrator did a wonderful job.

There was too much gun play and not enough intrigue.
The bad guys kept showing up uninvited and insisting on face to face meetings.

The Harlequin Intrigue books would be better without ridiculous sex scenes. They always make me roll my eyes. Readers have imaginations, and if the writers chose to omit the sex, we could fill in the blanks ourselves.

More Intrigue is needed.
