Her village burned to the ground and parents murdered by Romans, she is kidnapped, sold and shipped abroad to the Villa Tempestatis in Britannia to serve the young Roman army officer Castus. Faced with a bleak future of decades of servitude to her master, as well as sadistic brutality at the hands of his slave and manageress, Paltucca, she finds herself fixated by one thought alone. Fuelled by hatred and a belief that the gods saved her for a reason, she vows to never taste freedom until she gets her revenge.

Dark Romantic Thriller With A Dash of Spice
I love the way the story unfolds with how there is something troubling both characters but we don’t really find out until the middle. I adore Morally Grey characters and that’s why Elise made such an intriguing character. The spice was the cherry on top and I definitely liked the fact the emotion felt EARNED. In a lot of romantic stories, the author simply throws two hot people together and then go “voila! Romance!” But here the characters have a deep connection that can be understood. ❤️❤️❤️
The violence was a slow build up that kept you eager to keep listening for hours.
Can’t wait to read more from this author.
