Resumen del Editor

1920 - Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales: Tessa Wiggins's "madness" is provoked by the adopted spirit of a 2,000-year-old Druid priestess mentoring her to be the servant of The Earth Mother. When Tessa defies treatment, her lover asks a childhood friend, Sherlock Holmes, to intervene. But despite everyone's best intentions, Tessa finds herself in Hellingford Asylum, where she is driven toward her final breaking point on All-Halloween.

Mysteriously Wonderful!

This is a story of a strong and clever woman dealing with demons inside her head and outside her door. There are many mysteries to be solved, including is Tessa really mad. The author weaves the many details of the mystical and the physical to help us all figure out what is going on. Even Tessa's old friend Sherlock Holmes doesn't have it all sorted out. It takes a team.

I was totally unfamiliar with Celtic mythology, and grateful that way it is explained so I could follow easily follow along. The dialogues between Tessa and the spirit of a Druid priestess that is sharing her body are amazing. Tessa is sane enough to know how insane this all seems. No wonder all her friends are worried about her. She is sent to asylum but she is also on the job as a "irregular" detective for Sherlock Holmes to find out what is happening there and where is his missing manuscript. There are so many criminal activities going on.

You won't guess the ending. There is so much happening. And is really not an ending but the birth of a new detective with many amazing powers that Sherlock has to admire even if he is not sure he believes in them.

This story stands alone or you can hear more about Tessa in earlier books and maybe more books to come. I finished listening in two days.

A really good story!

This book is a sequel to [book:The Celtic Phoenix: A Sherlock Holmes Adventure: Introducing Tessa Wiggins the Irregular Detective|58198156] and it's set eight months after its end.

Tessa is living with the consequences of what transpired then, guilt-ridden by Maeve's death and trying to get ready to be a priestess when Sherlock Holmes asks for her help and from there the story unleashes.

I really liked the way in which Tessa's mythical story it's entwined with Holmes' case and with his past .

The mystery is really interesting and well done, and bringing back an old enemy was such a good idea!

I still have the same complains about Rebecca Reed's narration. And Moran accent *shudders*

But the story is really worth of your time :D
