Meeting Adam was magic. LouElla had never met a man that was kind, compassionate, and caring. She was an orphan by ten, went to work at a bakery instead of school, and lived in a rundown cabin in the mountains. Adam caught LouElla when she would fall, he brought wonder and fireworks to her life. Then he left. Mary, a young orphan, brought love to her life, then LouElla gave that love back through the magic her mother had given her, a red coat.
Noah Miller was in charge of the orphan train. LouElla had known him for nearly twenty years, Mary was part of the orphan train and LouElla insisted she adopt her. Only problem, she had to be married. The Sheriff told LouElla the problem and LouElla proposed to him. He agreed.
