A fantastic psychological thriller that reminds me of Silence of the Lambs. A woman is kidnapped by a crazed killer and is at her wits end to discover a way to escape. The visual imagery pulls you in and makes you think you’re the captive and causes your heart to pound a thousand beats a minute. I love the way Mr. Devall writes and brings you into the minds of his characters. The story would be fascinating if it was just about Isabella and her captor, but there is so much more to this novel. The author also brings you into the lives of her close friends and how they are impacted by the loss of their friend. I had a hard time putting this one down and I must say it’s the best book I’ve read in a very long time.
