Home of the Mona Lisa
Established in 1793, The Louvre in Paris, France is the second largest art museum in the world and it houses art and antiquities from around the globe. The best known in its collection is the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. The museum is housed in the Louvre Palace which dates to the late 12th century whose construction was began by King Phillip II to protect the city from the attack from the West.
