Manly Palmer Hall (1901-1990) was an author, lecturer, astrologer, and mystic. Over his 70-year career, he gave thousands of lectures and published over 150 books. In The Lost Keys of Freemasonry (1923), Hall examines the essence and history of the craft, the ethical training required of a Freemason, and the character traits a Mason must develop within himself. The book also provides insight into the underlying symbolism behind the rituals, plus the unique and distinctive elements that have inspired generations of Freemasons. Hall illuminates some spiritual aspects of the hidden meanings in masonry and the ancient origins from which the contemporary fraternity receives its insights.
