Good story - but

The main problem with this is not the virtual voice, but the lack of research. One cannot travel by horseback literally across the US in 3 months. Using the roads, you can probably make it in 8, taking pit stops into consideration. The minor characters are generally monotone - old guys ok, younger semi to completely bad.. Main family has to be nerodivergent. Good to listen to otherwise, but the lack of proper research into what it takes to make such a journey kept knocking me out of the story to shake my head at the mistakes.
