“… sometimes it seems in this irresistible book that this is what we are all fighting for: the beauty of life and nothing else.”—The New York Times

From the New York Times bestselling author of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the creator of the iconic spy George Smiley, John le Carré, The Little Drummer Girl is hailed as one of the author’s best, and the favorite of the likes of Steven King and John Grisham.

Excellent story. Narrator’s voicing of Charlie makes her seem trivial and childish. Voicing of Helga-nails on chalkboard. Arabic accents unconvincing.

Narrator’s accents annoying.

This is one I’ve read before, and although it can be tough to follow if you are paying “close” attention, the audio version didn’t disappoint. Great vocal performance, and as always excellent writing by the master of espionage.

This Underrated LeCarre classic

one of LeCarre’s longest and best. hard to put down. terrific narration. the reader feels as if he is there in the terrorist training camp and with the Mossad operatives . LeCarre knows whereof he writes. great plot, detail and characterizations

fascinating

Soooooooo good!!! A great listen. Le Carré at his best: beautifully drawn characters, well-crafted story. Ando does an admirable job at capturing all the nationalities and traits and performances of the large cast of characters. A bit of patience and you get used to some of the clumsiness. The heart comes through. A very good Audible experience.

Great Writing, Admirably Told

This is one of my favorite Le Carre novels. The story had me hooked from the start. Excellent narration.

Compelling story

Adjoa Andoh is an adequate reader, but who thought it was a good idea to have her attempt foreign accents? I don't think I've ever heard anyone consistently speak foreign accented English so poorly that it transmutes serious well-written dialog into comedy slapstick.

Spoiled by Extraordinarily Poor Accents

The story is great but the narration isn't. Narrator seems to try to differentiate characters but it all ends up sounding the same and her voice gets distracting

Great book, but

Delicately and with great talent, characters are developed into such real and relatable roles one has a hard time knowing where they would draw there own lines. Brilliant story and one of his best books- up there with The Night Manager, and The Spy who came in From the Cold-

Poignant, piercing, and profound

Narrator made the Israelis sound like Germans. They sound mothing like the subtle characyers in the book.

My absolute favorite book
