what a listen

This was amazing and different from my normal reads but I absolutely loved it! the characters development through out the story was amazing.

Wow.

The realism in this story is such a refresher for those that have experienced high school and are currently. While I can relate to the bullying and being isolated to the mental health struggles, I cannot attest to the weight of being gay in high school and juggling all these external factors.
This was surprising and well developed over the course of the storyline, Avery is sweet, genuine and supportive. Tristan mirrors my soul and I really resonated with him, he's hurt inside and doubts his self worth and the importance of his existence because no one has showed him that he does in fact matter until a stranger shows him what it is like to be seen, protected, sheltered and cared for. Together, they show each other unbridled support and what it means to have a friendship that has no expectations and defies the weight of institutional expectations such as the high school cliques.
A great highlight that healing isn't linear and that we can smile and feel better but still fall victim to our mental health and brain because we have to survive for ourselves too, not just our loved ones.
